Aztec has been Highly Commended as Best Business for Sustainability at the South London Business Awards 2009.
Aztec is committed to managing sustainability in all our business activities.The company actively works with its clients to develop best practise, a recent example being the sponsorship of the Reed Exhibitions Positive Impact BS8901 Sustainability Contractor Sessions.
Some key achievements from our Sustainability Action Plan include:
• Recycling of virtually all waste materials. This includes felt from sets which we donate to local schools, cubs and guides troops.
• Use of bio-diesel in our speed-limited vehicles from a Bunded Tank on our premises.
• Timers on heaters, remote switching off of all office electrical equipment.
• Encouragement of home working by provision of laptops.
• Encouragement of cycling to work by taking part in the governments Cycle2Work scheme, provision of bike racks, and sponsorship of Cycle to Work events.
We have recently measured the carbon footprint of all our hire assets and we will soon be in a position to provide clients with an accurate carbon offset option on every quotation.
The company is currently finalising steps to attain BS8901 accreditation.
